BEES Coop is much more than a supermarket. The Coop is an area where meetings and exchanges happen in within the neighbourhood. This takes place, thanks to:
– The setting up of courses and cooking workshops, as well as sustainable food awareness
– Partnerships with local organisations
– Services offered to the members, as for instance the provision of a washing machine, assistance for loading supplies, organisation of various activities, etc.
– The providing of a multipurpose room to the members allowing them to organize cinema-debates, conferences, meetings, exhibitions, and other.
Falcoop
FALCOOP is a research project conducted by BEES Coop and the CEESE (Centre for Economic and Social Studies on the Environment of the Université Libre de Bruxelles) and financed by Innoviris.
This project aims to
- Make sustainable food accessible
- Develop the social purpose of BEES Coop
- Raise awareness and educate citizens to the stakes behind food consumption
- Understand the social and cultural obstacles to a fairer consumption pattern
